Medical research "action tank" announces the winner of the Dream Cars Raffle
Washington, DC, (October 5, 2012) - FasterCures, the Milken Institute's Center for Accelerating Medical Solutions, in partnership with 17-year-old race car driver Andrew Palmer, hand over the Porsche keys and $75,000 cash as they congratulate the winner of the Dream Cars Raffle.
Two extraordinary Porsches, a 2012 911Turbo S and a 2012 Cayenne Turbo, plus cash, now belong to Mike Skarda, the proud new owner and winner of the Dream Cars Raffle.
Racing in efforts to support FasterCures in accelerating medical solutions, Palmer drove the two Porsches in the 29th annual Tire Rack One Lap of America on May 5 - 12, 2012. The eight day event consisted of 19 on-track race stages conducted at nine different venues separated by 3,350 miles.
Palmer, one of the top kart racing drivers in the U.S. and the 2010 Rotax National Champion said, "It's an adrenaline rush every time I step out on that track, but this time was exhilarating on a different level. To participate in a high-speed, cross-country race in efforts to raise support and awareness for a greater cause made the experience all that much more impactful. I want to personally thank all those who participated in the raffle and generously donated to FasterCures, an organization that is working to revolutionize the medical industry."
FasterCures and Palmer would like to thank all of those who participated and generously supported the mission and goal of the FasterCures program, making this event a success.
FasterCures focuses on improving medical research and accelerating the progress of discovery and development of new medical solutions for deadly and debilitating diseases. It functions as an "action tank" facilitating the discovery and development of new medical solutions.
A number of corporations have collaborated to help accelerate this effort including The Auto Gallery Porsche, Diamond Resorts International®, Katten Muchin Rosenman, Integrated Properties, BDO and J3 Competition. FasterCures and Andrew Palmer Racing would like to thank all of them for their support.
